WEEX Review: Fees, Features, Facts, & More

Our verdict
We like WEEX for its well-rounded trading environment, combining a clean interface, integrated TradingView charting, and a generous copy trading ecosystem that makes it approachable for newer traders while still offering enough depth for more active participants. The optional KYC model and a sizeable BTC protection fund add meaningful flexibility and peace of mind. Customer support is the one area that falls short of the overall experience, with response quality and speed leaving room for improvement.

WEEX Overview

In this WEEX review, we will explore what the exchange has to offer, covering its features, trading tools, and key offerings such as products, fees, and security measures, helping you decide if it’s the right choice for your digital trading activities.
Founded in 2017 by Ricardo Suarez and based in Singapore, WEEX is a cryptocurrency exchange serving over 6 million users. It offers spot trading with more than 2,048 pairs and futures trading across 570+ pairs, with leverage options reaching up to 400x. Spot trading fees are set at 0.1% maker / 0.1% taker for both makers and takers, while futures trading fees are 0.02% for makers and 0.08% for takers.
WEEX launched its native ERC-20 token, WXT, in August 2023. Qualifying holders can access tier-based fee benefits and selected airdrop programs. The WXT section below explains the current utility, supply reductions and participation conditions.

The exchange features a copy trading section that includes more than 5,000 listed traders. According to public data, the platform has crossed $800 million in copy trading volume. This tool is positioned for users interested in replicating trading activity from selected accounts. A demo trading environment is also available, allowing users to simulate trades with test funds and interact with the platform’s interface before committing actual assets.
WEEX has collaborated with public figures such as former footballer Michael Owen as part of its promotional campaigns. These initiatives are part of broader outreach efforts aimed at increasing platform visibility across multiple regions.
As we dive deeper into this WEEX Review, we’ll explore more about their product offerings and how they could benefit you if you choose WEEX as your cryptocurrency exchange.

WEEX Sign-up & KYC
You can sign up on WEEX in just a few minutes with your Email or Phone number and a strong password.
Does WEEX Require KYC?
No. You can deposit crypto and trade spot and futures without verifying your identity. KYC is needed for P2P trading and for buying crypto by card or bank transfer, and WEEX can ask an unverified account to verify.
Verification mainly changes how much you can withdraw. WEEX sets a 24-hour withdrawal limit by VIP level: at the entry level, unverified accounts can withdraw up to $10,000 a day and verified accounts up to $1,000,000. Both limits rise at higher VIP levels, and there is no separate cap on a single withdrawal.
WEEX KYC Requirements
- A valid government-issued ID: passport, national ID card or driver’s licence, depending on the country that issued it
- A liveness check with your phone or webcam
WEEX may also ask for proof of address, such as a utility bill or bank statement from the last three months, when an account needs an enhanced review.
How to Complete WEEX KYC
- Log in, open the profile menu and select Verification, then Verify Now.
- Choose the country or region that issued your ID. WEEX then opens its verification partner, Sumsub.
- Select your document type and upload clear photos of it.
- Complete the liveness check.
Automated checks often finish within minutes. If your application needs a manual review, WEEX says it generally takes up to three working days.
WEEX isn’t available everywhere, so check our WEEX restricted countries guide before you sign up. If you ever decide to leave, you can withdraw your funds and delete your account.

WEEX Products and Services
Trading tools are an essential feature of any crypto exchange, but what sets platforms apart are the additional products and services they offer. WEEX brings its own unique features to the table. Let’s take a closer look at its crypto products:
WEEX Trading Features
WEEX offers both spot and futures trading, with over 2,048+ cryptocurrencies available in spot and 570+ futures contracts. While the futures interface is relatively modern, the spot trading interface feels a bit outdated compared to other exchanges. Additionally, features like customizable layouts, where traders can rearrange elements like charts and order books for a personalized setup, are not available on WEEX.
WEEX integrates TradingView, a widely-used tool for technical analysis. This integration provides users access to advanced charting tools, including the ability to plot support and resistance levels, trendlines, and other custom charting features beyond standard indicators.
Copy Trading
WEEX offers Copy Trading, allowing you to replicate the trades of elite traders and earn a share of their profits, with total copy trading volume exceeding $800 million. With a simple one-click setup, you can select a trader from a list, view their performance, and start copying their trades. Elite traders receive 10% of the profits earned by their copiers, calculated as (copiers’ profit – fee) × 10%.

This feature gives you the chance to minimize risk by following experienced traders, increasing your chances of successful trades. Copy trading also offers customizable settings, allowing you to adjust margin and risk control options for better control over their trades.
WE-Launch
WE-Launch lets eligible users commit WXT to selected project airdrops. WEEX’s detailed rules currently set a 300-WXT spot-balance threshold, checked through snapshots, rather than the older 1,000-WXT figure. Committed tokens are used to calculate rewards and are not frozen. Each event controls its eligibility, allocation and reward period; see the WXT section and the linked official rules before participating.

Mobile App
WEEX offers an intuitive mobile app for both Android and iOS users, perfect for those who prefer trading on the go rather than being tied to a computer. The app features a beginner-friendly interface and an easy-to-navigate layout. You can create an account directly through the app, and it provides access to all the markets and trading pairs available on the desktop site. With the app, you can trade, deposit, withdraw, and copy trade without any issues.

Buy Crypto and P2P
Verified users can buy crypto with fiat in two ways. Quick Buy goes through third-party payment providers such as OSL Pay, which accept cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay, with PIX and SEPA available in some regions. WEEX P2P lets you trade with other users in local currencies, for example euros by SEPA Instant. Both need KYC. WEEX’s terms say direct fiat withdrawals may not be available, so check the P2P market if you need to cash out.
Rewards Hub
The Reward Hub on WEEX offers a variety of exciting events to engage you and enhance your experience on the platform. These events include futures trading competitions, spin-the-wheel games, and copy trading challenges, all designed to reward active participation. By taking part in these events, you can earn prizes and bonuses, adding extra value to your trading experience.
Demo Trading
WEEX Futures Demo Trading uses virtual USDT to practice futures orders without changing a real balance. Its help centre describes 50,000 USDT in initial demo funds and additional 5,000-USDT claims, subject to the balance threshold and a 72-hour waiting period. The demo selector shows the available contracts. Official demo details.
How to demo trade on WEEX
- Log in and open Futures Demo. Choose Futures > Futures Demo and confirm the demo label and virtual balance.
- Set up a practice order. Choose a demo pair, margin mode, leverage and order type. Enter the quantity and any limit price.
- Submit the order. Review the settings and confirm Open Long or Open Short.

- Add exit controls. In Positions, open TP/SL and enter the trigger prices and quantity you want to practice, then confirm.

- Close or replenish. Use the position’s close or Flash Close control to exit. For eligible additional demo funds, select the plus beside Available and follow the displayed claim rules.

WEEX Trading Platform
Currently, WEEX allows users to trade on both spot and futures markets. Let’s take a closer look at both platforms to understand what they offer, what to expect, and identify any shortcomings that may exist.
Spot Trading
WEEX provides access to over 2,048+ spot trading pairs, including options across USDT and USDC markets. The platform applies a flat trading fee of 0.1% maker / 0.1% taker for both makers and takers, with no tiered structure or volume-based adjustments. This keeps the cost structure uniform across trades, whether small or high-frequency.

The interface includes an integrated TradingView chart, which offers a full range of tools for technical analysis. Users can apply indicators, draw trendlines, or adjust chart settings directly within the trading screen. Alongside the chart, the live order book displays active bids and asks, giving visibility into market depth at all times.
Order placement includes both standard and advanced options. Traders can choose from Good-Till-Cancelled (GTC), Post Only, Immediate-Or-Cancel (IOC), and Fill-Or-Kill (FOK). These provide options for managing execution strategies depending on liquidity needs and timing. While the layout remains accessible to less experienced users, the added charting and order book tools give more room for deeper analysis and trade management.
Futures Trading
WEEX offers access to over 570+ futures contracts, with leverage options going up to 400x. The platform sets its base trading fees at 0.02% for makers and 0.08% for takers. For users with higher trading volumes or those holding WXT, the fee structure adjusts through VIP tiers. Check the current account-level maker and taker rates rather than assuming an old maximum-discount offer still applies.

The interface for futures trading follows a layout that resembles what’s commonly used across major exchanges. It includes standard tools for charting and order placement, though the selection of order types is somewhat limited. This may matter to traders who prefer more complex conditional setups or custom triggers.

One feature some users may find practical is the built-in option to capture chart screenshots. It allows traders to quickly save and share trade setups, whether for personal tracking or social media posts. For those still learning or testing strategies, WEEX also includes a demo trading mode for futures. This lets users experiment with different positions and tools in a risk-free environment before moving into live markets.
Maximum leverage is 400×.
WEEX Trading Fees
Trading Fees
WEEX uses a fixed fee model for spot trading, charging 0.1% maker / 0.1% taker for both makers and takers across all user levels. There is no tier-based pricing for spot trades, and fees remain the same regardless of trading volume or account status.
For futures trading, the platform applies a variable fee structure. The base rate is 0.02% for makers and 0.08% for takers, but users can access reduced fees depending on their trading activity or WXT holdings. The applicable discount depends on the current VIP tier and product; see the published VIP conditions.
WXT, the native token of WEEX, is now tied to the platform’s fee benefits. Users holding WXT can unlock additional discounts, particularly in futures trading, which adds a utility layer to the token beyond trading volume incentives.
Deposits and Withdrawals
Deposits and withdrawals on WEEX are made in crypto over the network you choose; buying with fiat goes through P2P or third-party providers, covered under Buy Crypto and P2P above. Network fees depend on the chain. For example, transferring USDT from another exchange will incur gas fees based on the chosen network. Using the Ethereum network may cost up to 7 USDT, while the Optimism network offers significantly lower fees, around 0.1 USDT.
The platform also supports internal transfers between WEEX accounts. These transfers are entirely free, making them a convenient option for users with multiple WEEX accounts or for sharing funds among friends or team members.
| Trading type | Maker fee | Taker fee | CEX median (64 tracked) | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Spot | 0.1% | 0.1% | 0.1% / 0.1% | Average |
| Futures | 0.02% | 0.08% | 0.02% / 0.06% | Pricier |
The median across the 64 centralized exchanges (CEX) we track, per fee type. WEEX is only ever compared with its own kind. "Average" means within half a basis point of that median.
WEEX Token (WXT)
WXT is WEEX’s Ethereum-based ERC-20 platform token, launched in August 2023. Its main purpose is to unlock exchange benefits for active users. The most useful distinction is between qualifying for a benefit by holding WXT and receiving a guaranteed return: ownership alone does not promise income or a permanent fee rate.
- VIP fee tiers: qualifying WXT holdings are one route into WEEX’s VIP program, alongside trading volume or asset balances. Fees depend on the applicable tier and product. The advertised maximum discount is not the rate every WXT holder receives.
- WE-Launch airdrops: WEEX’s detailed participation rules currently specify at least 300 WXT in the spot account, with eligibility checked through balance snapshots. Users must commit to the event; the commitment calculates rewards without freezing the tokens. Check each project’s conditions and timing, because losing eligibility can affect the allocation.
- Copy-trading benefits: eligible lead traders can qualify for enhanced profit-sharing terms through WXT holdings. This is a benefit tied to the trader’s role and program rules, not a payment to every token holder. Other promotions and earning offers may have separate caps, end dates and eligibility requirements.
Supply and burns: WXT began with ten billion tokens. The initial four-billion-token burn in January 2025 reduced that figure to six billion, but further burns followed. WEEX’s Q2 2026 burn report records 64,014,084 WXT removed, bringing cumulative burns to 4,317,110,783 and the reported remaining supply to 5,682,889,217 WXT. That is a dated post-burn supply figure, not the circulating supply or a price forecast.
Separately, WEEX announced a 1,000,000 USDT spot-market buyback starting September 7, 2026. An announced buyback is not proof that the purchases or a further burn have been completed; WEEX says it may change or terminate the plan.
WXT’s practical value depends on how much you use WEEX and whether the benefits justify holding a volatile token. Neither a burn nor a promotional APY guarantees a profit. Check current account-level fees and event terms, and verify the Ethereum token and supported withdrawal network before moving funds.

WEEX Security & Regulation
WEEX takes user security seriously and has put in place robust measures to safeguard funds and personal data. With features like two-factor authentication, funding passwords, and an official verification tool, the platform ensures that your interactions are secure.

To further protect yourself, users are encouraged to use the WEEX Official Verification Channel to check the legitimacy of URLs, emails, phone numbers, or Telegram accounts to avoid phishing scams and fraud.
Another key layer of security is the WEEX Protection Fund, where WEEX keeps a 1,000 BTC reserve. This fund acts as a safety net, providing extra protection in case of unexpected events, adding an extra level of security for users’ assets.

WEEX Customer Support
If you’re looking for quick and reliable customer support, WEEX may not be the best option. While they do offer a 24/7 live chat service, the support team tends to be slower than expected and may lack the expertise needed for more complex issues. Additionally, some support staff members rely on translation tools, which can sometimes lead to awkward or unclear translations. Overall, the customer support experience might not meet the expectations of those seeking fast and efficient assistance.

WEEX Deposit Methods
Go to the profile icon on the top menu of the homepage. To access your wallet, click on “Deposit”. This will lead you to your assets. In order to deposit coins, first, you need to select the token or crypto asset you wish to add to your digital wallet. From the drop-down menu, you can pick any coin. After selecting the coin, you can pick your choice of network from the available options. Please note that the network options will depend on the coin you have selected. Also, you need to deposit your coins into the same network from which you have withdrawn them. Our chosen network is TRC20. After clicking on “Get deposit address”, you can generate an address for transfer. Now, through the selected network, you need to send funds to the generated address. Please make sure to correctly mention the address and double-check it before executing the transaction. An incorrect transfer can make you lose your coins, and these transfers are irreversible. Moreover, select the same network on the platform from where you’re withdrawing the coins.

Bottom Line
Selecting the right exchange is essential, and while WEEX offers features like copy trading and fee discounts, its customer support experience remains a common point of frustration for many users. Response times can be slow, and resolving issues may take longer than expected. If responsive support and smoother overall experience are priorities, alternatives like Bybit or BYDFi may offer a more reliable option.
FAQ
No. You can deposit crypto and trade spot and futures without KYC. Verification is needed for P2P trading and fiat purchases, and verified accounts get much higher withdrawal limits.
From an account-security point of view, yes, if you protect the account with a strong password, two-factor authentication and withdrawal security settings. Keeping a large balance on any exchange carries platform risk whether you are verified or not, and WEEX can change its KYC policy or ask you to verify later.
WEEX appears to be a safe and reliable crypto exchange, operating since 2017. There are no reports of customer funds being stolen, but WEEX reported attacks that disrupted its service in 2023, and a server failure on its ETH/USDT market in March 2025 cost some users money; WEEX compensated affected users both times. However, we still consider WEEX to be a high-risk exchange, and caution is highly advised. We recommend considering top alternatives such as Bybit or BYDFi.
