HTX Overview
When it comes to cryptocurrency exchanges, there’s no shortage of options for traders to explore. But with so many available, it can be tricky to figure out which one is right for you. In this review, you’ll take a complete tour of the features and offerings of an exchange with a solid reputation that’s been around since 2013, HTX, formerly known as Huobi.
By the time you finish this guide, you’ll have a clear understanding of what HTX brings to the table, the benefits you can expect, and whether it’s a safe option for your crypto trading. With this knowledge, you’ll be ready to make the right choice. After all, an informed decision is key!
HTX Global started back in 2013 in Beijing with the goal of creating a cryptocurrency trading platform for users in China and beyond. It quickly became one of the top three crypto exchanges in the country, offering plenty of liquidity for Bitcoin traders with a daily trading volume of over $2.51 billion. However, due to regulatory changes in China, HTX had to move its operations abroad in 2017. It’s now incorporated in Seychelles with its headquarters in Singapore, focusing on expanding into other Asian markets and worldwide, although it remains restricted in countries like China and the U.S.

HTX gives you access to over 489+ cryptocurrencies, along with competitive trading fees and a variety of tools suited for both beginners and seasoned traders. Whether you’re into staking, copy trading, or need API integration for more advanced strategies, HTX has you covered.
You can choose between two platforms: the desktop browser version, which is perfect for more active traders who need advanced tools like social trading and automated bot creation, or the mobile app, which offers a simpler, more user-friendly interface for quick trades on the move. With its low trading fees, HTX is also a strong option for day traders looking to maximize their gains.

HTX Products and Services
When using HTX, you have access to a diverse and comprehensive set of trading features designed for all levels of cryptocurrency traders, from beginners to seasoned professionals. Here’s what you can expect when trading on this platform:
Copy Trading
For those of you new to trading, HTX offers a helpful feature: copy trading. This allows you to follow the strategies of expert traders with just a few clicks. In the copy trading dashboard, you can sort traders by their profit and loss (PNL) to find the most successful ones to follow. It’s a great way to learn from experienced traders, but keep in mind that there’s always risk involved—you’re handing over control of your funds to another trader, and if they lose, you lose too.

Trading Bots
HTX offers crypto bots that let you set up a strategy and earn through trading without staying glued to your screen for hours. You can choose from AI-built strategies that have been backtested for better results, or you can create your own custom strategy. However, there’s no backtesting feature on HTX, which is a major downside since untested strategies can be risky. That said, you’ll find the crypto bots easy to set up and effective, executing your strategies with accuracy.

Options Trading
Signing up with HTX for your crypto journey also gives you access to options trading, with both European and American options to choose from. With an easy-to-use and clean interface, you can simply set up your call and put spreads, adjust other parameters like strike price and expiration date, and get a quote in real-time. From there, you can review potential profits and risks before executing your trade. HTX makes the process straightforward, ensuring you can manage your options trading with confidence.

Lending and Staking
HTX doesn’t stop with trading; it also offers opportunities to earn passive income. You can borrow cryptocurrencies through their lending services, using assets like USDT, USDC, or ETH as collateral. The interest rates for these loans vary based on the asset and market conditions, offering flexibility if you need liquidity without selling your holdings.
For staking, HTX provides both fixed-term and flexible staking options, enabling you to earn rewards on your holdings. Additionally, you can participate in HTX Primepool for short-term staking opportunities with the potential for even higher returns.

Crypto Loans
Crypto loans are a prime example of the earning potential in the crypto space. HTX offers you the opportunity to take out loans, so if you believe your trading can yield higher returns than the interest rates on your loans, you can easily borrow funds. With a daily interest rate of just 0.02% on the borrowed amount, you also have the flexibility to choose a loan period of 30 to 90 days. This option allows you to leverage your assets effectively and enhance your trading strategy.

Mobile App
If you’re frequently on the move and need a reliable crypto trading platform, HTX’s mobile app is an excellent choice. The HTX mobile app, available for both iOS and Android devices, has been downloaded over 10 million times and holds a solid 4 out of 5 rating. In our tests, the app proved stable even during periods of high market volatility, making it a dependable option for your trading needs. Its user-friendly interface ensures a seamless trading experience, whether you’re buying or selling crypto on the go.

HTX Trading
HTX offers several payment options, but due to regulatory complexities, direct crypto purchases aren’t available in many countries. To solve this, you can use HTX P2P, where you can easily buy or sell crypto using your country’s popular payment methods.
For added security, HTX uses an escrow system to ensure funds are protected, and there’s customer support available to help resolve any disputes that might come up during the transaction. This way, you can trade with peace of mind while using a payment method that’s convenient for you.

HTX Launchpool
HTX Launchpool lets eligible users stake HTX to earn participating projects’ tokens, as described in HTX’s January 2026 product recap. Participation uses HTX, not legacy HT. Check each campaign’s subscription window, limits and reward rules; future pools and returns are not guaranteed.

HTX DAO Token (HTX) and Legacy HT
HTX is the governance token of HTX DAO. It is a separate asset from legacy Huobi Token (HT). According to the official HT-to-HTX transition announcement, HT-based trading-fee and margin-interest deductions ended on January 22, 2024. HTX-based benefits followed on February 2, 2024. The announced conversion window ended on January 20, 2025; that historical programme should not be treated as an available conversion route today.
The transition introduced a 25% spot-fee discount and a 5% futures-fee discount when the relevant HTX deduction option is selected. The current HTX DAO benefits page still lists fee deductions and Prime membership benefits. Check My Fee Rates for your account’s eligible products, settings and actual rate; simply holding tokens does not activate fee payment.
For on-chain governance, the HTX DAO staking documentation distinguishes transferable HTX from sHTX, a non-transferable receipt created when HTX is staked. sHTX records the staker’s share and voting weight. Exchange fee payment, exchange Launchpool participation and DAO staking have separate rules; one should not be assumed to activate the others.
Holding or staking HTX exposes users to token-price risk, and staking also involves smart-contract risk. Neither governance rights nor advertised rewards guarantee a return.

HTX Trading Platform
HTX provides an intuitive trading interface that professional traders will value. You’ll have access to a detailed order book, trade history, live charts powered by TradingView, and advanced order types like Trigger Orders and automated take-profit/stop-loss features. While it might feel a bit overwhelming for beginners, it’s a powerful platform designed for those who want to trade efficiently in both the spot and futures markets.
Spot Trading
HTX offers an impressive selection of 489+ coins and 502 trading pairs on its spot market. Whether you’re just getting started or you’re a pro, you’ll find a vast array of cryptocurrencies to trade. The platform provides you with access to detailed market data and supports various order types, including market orders, limit orders, stop-limit orders, and trigger orders.

Margins Trading
If you’re looking to maximize your gains, HTX offers margin trading on the spot market, allowing you to leverage your positions up to 5x on major cryptocurrencies. This means you can borrow funds from the exchange to potentially increase profits. Of course, you will need to pay interest on the borrowed amount, so it’s essential to weigh the risks.
Futures Trading
HTX is also a standout player when it comes to futures trading. If you’re interested in advanced trading options, the platform offers leverage up to 200x on a variety of trading pairs through 369+ futures contracts, including perpetual swaps and standard futures. This high leverage allows you to amplify your positions, but it also comes with significant risk, so it’s crucial to trade wisely.

HTX futures fees start at 0.02% for makers and 0.06% for takers. Optional HTX-token deductions depend on the account settings and eligible product. Legacy HT no longer provides this benefit; see the token transition details.
Like spot trading, the futures interface is fully customizable via drag-and-drop functionality. You can add indicators directly to your chart and switch between isolated or cross margin modes, depending on your trading strategy.
Maximum leverage is 200× (spot margin up to 5×).
HTX Security & Regulation
Security is paramount in the crypto world, and HTX takes it seriously. The exchange holds client funds in multi-signature cold wallets and maintains a 20,000 BTC Security Reserve Fund. This fund was established to manage extreme security incidents and ensure high-level protection for user assets. To date, HTX has never been hacked, reflecting its strong security measures.

Additionally, you can enhance your account security with features like 2-Factor Authentication (2FA), SMS authentication, a trading password, and an anti-phishing code. These layers of security are crucial for protecting your account from unauthorized access.
