Berachain’s testnet went live a few months ago, giving Bera Bears the opportunity to interact with the platform and farm for the airdrop. If you also participated in it, the mainnet is now functional, meaning you can start using the Berachain network, explore the dApps, and transfer your NFTs from the Ethereum mainnet to Berachain. In this guide, we will explore the different options available for bridging to Berachain, allowing you to securely move funds and start exploring the network.
Can I Bridge to Berachain?
Yes, with the mainnet now live, you can bridge to Berachain using a cross-chain bridge protocol to transfer $BERA tokens or NFTs. Though the options are currently limited since only a few cross-chain bridges support Berachain at the moment, we will explore the official Berachain bridge for transferring funds, along with an alternative. But before we proceed, you need to prepare a few tools to ensure a smooth process.
1. $BERA Tokens
To bridge funds, you need $BERA tokens in your wallet to cover gas fees. In the case of Berachain, $BERA is the native token. So, make sure your Berachain-compatible wallet is funded with $BERA before proceeding with the process.

2. Web3 Wallet
Bridging to Berachain requires a Web3 wallet. In this guide, we will use MetaMask, the most popular wallet, to bridge assets and NFTs to Berachain. Since Berachain is an EVM-compatible network, it is supported by MetaMask. However, you can use any other EVM-compatible wallet as well.

3. Add Berachain
Finding a compatible wallet is not enough, as there is no official Berachain wallet available yet. Wallets like MetaMask or Trust Wallet require you to manually add Berachain’s RPC details. So, once you have your wallet (in our case, MetaMask), the next step is to add Berachain to MetaMask to ensure network compatibility.
How to Bridge to Berachain?
With Berachain’s mainnet now live, the official Berachain bridge is also functional. In this guide, we will explore how to use the Berachain bridge to transfer $BERA tokens or NFTs to the Berachain network.
The Berachain Bridge is the official cross-chain solution designed for seamless transfers to the Berachain network. Supporting over 14 networks, including Arbitrum, Base, Ethereum, and other widely used blockchains, it offers a straightforward and efficient way to bridge assets. With an intuitive interface, the process takes less than five minutes, ensuring a smooth experience for users. Additionally, the bridge is built with security and reliability in mind, making it a dependable choice for transferring $BERA tokens or NFTs across networks.
Bridge Funds
Here are the steps to bridge tokens to Berachain using the official Berachain Bridge:
Step 1: First, open your preferred browser and navigate to the Berachain Bridge.
Step 2: In the first field, select the chain from which you want to transfer assets. For example, you can choose Ethereum or Base.
Step 3: Once the chain is selected, click on the Asset drop-down menu, select the token you want to bridge to Berachain, and enter the amount you wish to transfer.
Step 4: By default, the receiving chain will be set to Berachain, and the receiving token will be the same as the one you are bridging from the other network.
Step 5: Next, connect your wallet to the Berachain Bridge by clicking on the “Connect” button.
Step 6: With the networks and tokens selected, click on the “Add” button to set up the gas fees for the transaction.
Step 7: You can manually enter a gas fee amount or click on “MAX” to pay the maximum gas fee. Once done, click on the “X” icon to close the gas fee options.
Step 8: Review your transaction details carefully, then click on the “Bridge” button to transfer your assets to Berachain.
Bridge NFTs
You can also bridge your NFTs to the Berachain network if they were minted on the Ethereum network during the testnet phase. However, to do this, you will need to use the Berachain NFT Bridge, which supports Ethereum-based NFTs and allows users to transfer them to Berachain. If you had minted NFTs, here’s how you can bridge them to Berachain using the official NFT bridge.
Step 1: To bridge NFTs to Berachain, open your browser and navigate to the Berachain NFT Bridge.
Step 2: Click on the “Connect” button to connect your wallet to the Berachain NFT Bridge. Ensure that your wallet contains the NFTs on the Ethereum mainnet.
Step 3: Currently, the bridge only supports NFT transfers from the Ethereum mainnet, so click on “Select Ethereum Network” to switch your wallet network to Ethereum.
Step 4: Once your wallet is connected, you will be redirected to the homepage, where you can see all your Berachain NFTs minted on the Ethereum mainnet. Select the NFT you wish to bridge.
Step 5: To proceed with the transfer, click on the “Approve” button. Your wallet extension will pop up, allowing you to review the transaction details and approve it.
Step 6: After approving the bridging transaction, tick the checkbox to confirm your destination address, then click on “Transfer” to initiate the process.
Step 7: The transfer will take a few moments to complete. Once finished, you can view all your bridged NFTs in the “Completed” section.
The Berachain NFT Bridge only supports NFTs that were minted on the Ethereum mainnet. During the farming period, some projects were also launched on the Arbitrum network through Kingdomly. If you need to bridge NFTs from Arbitrum to Berachain, you can use the Kingdomly Bridge for this purpose.
Bridge $BERA Using Stargate Bridge
Users from different networks are eager to explore Berachain, especially due to its potential in the DeFi space. However, accessing the network can be challenging since not many cross-chain bridges currently support Berachain. In such cases, bridge aggregators can be a reliable alternative, as they find the best routes for completing cross-chain transfers.
One of the most effective solutions is the Stargate Bridge, which allows users to bridge assets to Berachain from over 63+ different networks, including both EVM and non-EVM compatible blockchains. Here’s how you can bridge your tokens to Berachain using Stargate:
Step 1: Stargate Bridge is available as a web version, so start by opening your browser and navigating to the Stargate Bridge website.
Step 2: To proceed, click on the “Connect Wallet” button to link your Berachain compatible wallet.
Step 3: On the Stargate Bridge interface, select the network you want to bridge from and choose the token you wish to transfer in the “From” field.
Step 4: Next, select “Berachain” as the destination network in the “To” field and choose the token you want to receive.
Step 4: Next, enter the amount of the selected token you wish to bridge to Berachain.
Step 5: Once the amount is entered, the transaction details will be displayed. Review them carefully, then click on the “Transfer” button to proceed with the transaction.
Bridge aggregators tend to be more expensive compared to direct cross-chain bridges, as they use multiple protocols to complete a transfer. This means you may incur additional costs, including:
- Gas fees for multiple networks
- Cross-chain protocol fees
- Aggregator service fees
While aggregators offer more flexibility and network compatibility, it’s essential to review the total cost before proceeding with the transaction.
Berachain Bridging Fees
Berachain offers a cost-effective bridging experience, with fees primarily depending on the network you are transferring from. If you’re bridging from Ethereum, the fees can range between $5 to $15, whereas networks like Arbitrum or Polygon, which are Ethereum scaling solutions, typically have much lower fees—often just a few cents. Additionally, some costs come from the platforms or aggregators facilitating the transfer, and these fees can vary depending on the service you use.
Bottom Line
Berachain introduces a fresh approach to blockchain technology, and innovation always attracts new users eager to explore its potential. With its Proof of Liquidity model, the network is set to transform how liquidity providers and validators are rewarded for securing the chain. If you’re looking to bridge to Berachain, whether it’s tokens or NFTs, you have multiple options. Berachain offers native bridging solutions, while bridge aggregators provide additional flexibility, making it easier to transfer assets from different networks.
